Model of the British Railways standard mark 1 design passenger coaches built in the 1950s. Composite coaches contain compartments for first and second class passengers and are used to provide a small number of first class seats in shorter train formations.
The former Great Western chocolate and cream livery reappeared in the late 1950s to provide a distinct regional image for the return of titles for regions' principal express passenger trains. The livery has also been popular with heritage railways.
