An excellent model of the classic Fowler 3F shunting engine, originating from the Midland Railway and adopted by the LMS as their standard heavy shunting locomotive. These engines proved very versatile, being capable of working branchlines, shunting large goods yards and hauling suburban commuter trains. The Bachmann model features backhead detailing inside the cab, separately fitted handrails and a drive mechanism with good slow-running characteristics.
