The J72 is a useful small shunting and light goods engine, originally designed by the Wordsell brothers for the North Eastern Railway in 1898 the last of 113 locos were built by British Railways in 1951. Like many small shunting engines the J72s were used for many light duties, from country branchlines and busy dockyards.
