BR Sector Liveries

The pinnacle of OO scale second generation DMUs, the Branchline Class 158 combines high fidelity bodyshells with an underframe that’s adorned with separate components depicting the engines, electrical equipment, and auxiliary gear. It’s the livery application which really brings these models to life and every element has been replicated in miniature. Whilst the main colours are spray painted, the myriad smaller logos, symbols and lettering are applied using a specialist printing process, using BR and corporate specification fonts, logos and colours.

Iris 2 functioned as a lab for Network Rail undertaking tests around the UK. As Iris 2, the DMU appeared in a Serco Railtrack livery, Network Rail livery and a unique grey Lab 19 livery. Iris 2 is currently preserved on the Barry Tourist Railway in a BR Green livery.

This Railroad model fitted with a 3 pole motor and simple gearing, proving to be a reliable runner on any layout. The 8 pin DCC sound decoder allows the model to be used on a digital layout and its railroad specification makes it ideal as a starter digital model.

The second batch of the class 150 units incorporated corridor connections into the cab ends, enabling through communication when units were coupled together. The power operated sliding doors fitted to the class 150 units allowed a wider door opening and quicker passenger boarding. Most of these units remain in service today, the corridor connections allowing great flexibility in train formations.

The Bachmann model features tinted glazing, directional lighting and a 5 pole motor with flywheels for smooth running.

A highly detailed model of the British Railways Southern region class 73 electro-diesel locomotives. These are primarily third-rail electric locomotives but carry an auxiliary diesel engine for use away from electrified lines. Dapols model features a diecast chassis and all-wheel drive from a centrally mounted motor and flywheels allied to a highly detailed bodyshell with many separately fitted locomotive specific details to create both JA (73/0) and JB (73/1) variants.
This model is finished as BR InterCity liveried locomotive 73136 finished in the Executive version of the InterCity livery.

The Class 47 is one of the most mass produced locomotives of the BR Fleet. These locomotives were designed and built between 1962 and 1968 by Brush Traction and British Rail Crewe Works. They were used all over the western region hauling passenger services and can still be seen running up and down the country with special services.

All of the class would be in service with BR, until privatisation when all of the class would enter the ownership of EWS. Following EWS service, the locomotives would pass to various private owners. 56060 is currently owned by GBRf, awaiting conversion into the rebuilt Class 69.
