Graham Farish 372-931 N Gauge BR 31844 N Class 2-6-0 Mogul BR Lined Black Early Emblem
Designed by R E Maunsell for the SECR during WW1 the N class moguls were useful and flexible locomotives. A powerful and modern design, the N class mogul combined features needed to give the locos the ability to haul freight trains at a good speed and tackle some of the more challenging routes in Devon with express passenger services. This type of 'secondary' motive power was the backbone of the British steam fleet and a very welcome additon to the range of Southern steam locomotives available in N gauge.
This model of 31844 is painted in BR mixed traffic lined black with early type lion over wheel emblem. Fitted with smoke deflectors and paired with a straight-sided tender.
